To better oversee a rapid increasing underwear production Underwear factory. Kinakontakten has opened new office in Quanzhou the underwear manufacturing capital of China. The new office specializes in making standard fabric cut underwear, men’s boxers, men’s trunks and women’s hipsters, panties etc. etc. Being close to both fabric and waste band manufacturers will make developing new styles and designs more time efficient and we will have people overseeing every step of production at all times. We work closely with two selected manufacturers and with experienced and diligent workers and production capacity to complete large orders. We produce the far majority of all orders on Italian imported sewing machinery which makes the difference in the final products.

The booming Chinese local consumption and the not yet recovered western economy has made many compaanies focus on the Chinese market as a serious substitute buyer of their products. To meet demands of many customer who wish to take this new opportunity Kinakontakten has registered a local office with with retail rights as a platform for our overseas customers sales activities. Kinakontakten will handle administration an monthly auditor reports to the local governemt. Kinakontakten will also administrate hiring local sales talent and signing employment contracts.

Kinakontakten have experienced a rapid increase in inquiries from Scandinavian based companies the first two months of 2009. We see this mainly as a result of an office expansion into Zhejiang and the hiring of new talent but maybe the financial crises has played a role in this development as well.

The European market is down and economical growth in Denmark and Sweden is negative for the first time in a decade. We still experience a 35 % growwth in order quantities from ongoing customers and with many new inquiries we feel confident to surpase a 50% growth in textile sales turn over this year.

Our development of industrial heating systems has also seen a remarkable increase in order volumes, orders for standard industrial heating exchangers have already passed the expected 1200 units for the first quarter of this year, now looking back even though we spent over 2 years developing these products it seems worth it now. 

Kinakontaktens early focus on environmental friendly has given us the experience and expertise to solve the inquiries of 2009. Environment and healthy lifestyle are the trends of today and Kinakontakten are suppying the productss to meet customers demand.    

Manufacturing plant is established as a group covering plants producing yarns, dyeing plants and sewing factory. Covering all aspects of production we are able to deliver quality products with at a remarkably lower cost. Sewing factory is situated in Zhuji, Zhejiang. Holding more than 500 high-tech Italian made Santoni and Sangiacomo computerized seamless underwear sewing machines our plant has a monthly output of more than 6 mil pc of underwear. Seamless underwear is made on computerized cylinder needle machines making them 90% complete when leaving the machine. Only the nappy part in the bottom requires hand sewing and the underwear is complete.  From a manufacturing point of view the success and quality of the underwear relies on the settings machines and not handcraft. Wearing seamless underwear is very comfortable because there are no seams interrupting a good fit. Italian made computerized machines Santoni and Sangiacomo are market leading in creating patters and jacquard of a limitless variety design patterns.

Seamless underwear are made mainly in the below mentioned  compositions, though special requests can be constructed upon request from customers. The percentage composition of the products are decided by the thickness and amounts of yarns used.

• Polyamide 90% , elastane 10%
  The high quality polyamide/nylon assures a very soft feel and the elastane good elasticity
  (For women’s styles a 1-2 % cotton will be added to the nappy part)
• Cotton 80% , polyamide 15% , elastane 5%
  The cotton makes this composition more firm in the feel. A lesser content of elastane gives this underwear a lesser elasticity. 
• New materials like Lenzing Modal or Bamboo
  Modal 60% , cotton 20% , polyamide 15% , elastane 5%
  Both Modal and bamboo are super soft with each different other valued functions.
  Modal is the softest material available at the moment while Bamboo has a cooling and disinfecting effect.

Material technical information:

Polyamide/Nylon:
Polyamide is first separated into two nylon 6 and nylon 66, where nylon 66 is the best quality.
The thickness polyamide yarn thread s is always described from 10-70D, 10D being the thinnest and 70D the thickest. 10D is mainly used for nylon stockings and nylon socks. While 40D-70D is normal in all kinds of sock and underwear production. Seamless underwear is mainly produced using 70D nylon and this thickness of nylon thread is divided into three qualities naming the count of nylon fibers in the thread 24F, 48F and 68F, the higher the count of polyamide fibers in the thread the softer the feel.  To be able to call materials made by polyamide microfiber the polyamide fiber count has to be near a 1:1 with the thickness so seamless underwear producing polyamide 70D must have 68F fiber count to be called microfiber.

Polyester:
Polyester is calculated in thickness the same as polyamide, though no count of fibers when describing polyester.

Cotton:
Cotton yarn threads are firstly divided by the combing process of the yarn, carded cotton is the least combed while combed cotton the most, in the middle is semi combed cotton. All cotton yarn is combed but divided into these three categories according to the amount of combing being done to the cotton.
Cotton yarn thread is like polyamide also divided according to thickness of thread but opposite polyamide the higher the number of cotton thread the thinner the thread. Most normal cotton yarn thread  thicknesses are 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s which is the thinnest.

Lenzing Modal:
Lenzing modal is a patented yarn so only available in one quality from authorized dealers all over the world. The thickness of threads is described like cotton.

Bamboo:
The quality of the bamboo yarns depends on the professionalism of the maker. Even though the makers of bamboo fiber in China we have only approved qualities from three manufacturers. The thickness is again described like cotton.
Cover yarn:
The elastane is seldom used alone but appears always with polyamide or polyester wrapped around it making it cover yarn. Cover yarns are describe by the thickness of the elastane and the yarn wrapped around. And example could be 30/70D where the elastane thickness is 30 and the nylon around 70D. Cover yarns are available in many varieties but the most normal are 20/70D, 30/70D, 20/50D and 30/50D

To be able to answer customer inquiries we need as much of the following information as possible. For customers with ongoing orders but who are looking for a better service, delivery time and price this is easy they often have detailed specifications already and if not they can send us a size and colour set of their samples and we will make this into order specifications.  
For customer new to making seamless underwear we often recommend customers to buy and send us a sample of the underwear they like and then describe in their words how they would like to change it. We will analyze the product and make the technical adjustments needed.

The financial crises has tought all of us alot and had some inpact already on the develoment and growth in sales for our company. Theres still more to come im sure but so far we have managed to keep our noses above water. Some 80 000 Chinese factories has declared bankruptcy already and more are to come. The bank sector in the world has collapsed people are talking depression and consuption is declining. In Kinakontakten we have always had a healthy mix of luxury and consumption comodeties which along with a healthy customer base makes the inpact of the crises lesser. We still maintain a healthy production of monthly 250 000pc of underwear and 100 000pc of socks while luxury items like high end electric bikes and Jacuzzis have declined some. The financial turmoil also means an increased risk when placing orders at new factories so we have dedicated people to in cooperation with the chinese banks do financial reports and evaluations of new cooperations.

Kinakontakten Zhu ji office are proud to be part of a newly established joint venture cooperation covering the fabrication of cotton and nylon yarn thread. The high technological process of turning oil we drill in Tianjin into nylon thread which we make into the finest seamless underwear in Zhu ji. No other place in the world can a sock and underwear manufacturer claim that they are part of a similar establishment. The advantages are many and obvious. Drilling the oil our self and controlling all the levels of processing the yarn gives us a major quality and price advantage. We are currently expanding our seamless production equipment from 400 mixed Sangiacomo and Lonati Italian made machines to add another 100 sangiacomo machines.
